PRD/ARES 2026 - 2031 | Enhancing resilient coastal social-ecological systems through citizen participatory in urbanization and biodiversity monitoring (COURBIO)
Le projet de recherche COURBIO, mené par Luisa Moretto (ULB) en collaboration avec l'Université de Liège, étudie comment protéger la biodiversité et améliorer la vie des habitants sur les côtes urbaines du Vietnam.
COURBIO aims to enhance coastal social-ecological resilience in Vietnam by fostering community participation in urbanization and biodiversity monitoring while promoting sustainable development through research-driven policies and citizen empowerment. The Faculty of Architecture is particularly involded in the specific objectoves related to the understanding of biodiversity resilience in Vietnam's urbanizing coastal landscapes by engaging communities in participatory science initiatives; and the evaluation of community perceptions and well-being to co-create inclusive, research-driven policy recommendations.
Partners: The northern partners are Uliège-LEMA, Uliège-BEP, and ULB-LOUISE. The southern partners consist of VNU-SIS, VNU-BIO, and VNU-IVIDES. Additionally, two key actors representing local authorities and stakeholders are the People’s Committee of Kỳ Anh (KA-CP) and the Union of Science and Technology Association of Hải Phòng (HP-USTA).
